a couple things

I just wanted to share with everyone that Hayden is beginning to sit up. It is so exciting. This is the one thing I have been waiting for him to do. I can't just leave him yet, he still likes to try and nose dive. It is so nice that he can sit there and play though. It looks like Jace is trying to hold Hayden up by his head, he was just patting it though.

Now for something totally different. Have you ever been trying to discipline your child, and they make you laugh. It totally negates what you are trying to do. Tonight at dinner we just couldn't help ourselves. Jace was trying to lay on his belly on the table during dinner. I was getting on to him and telling him how we need to remain on our bottom while we eat. Well he gives me this little smile while I am trying to talk to him. It is his "Aren't I too cute to get in trouble" smile. I told him this was not funny. Then he decides to crack this huge fake smile. Clint and I both started laughing. Of course Jace thought he was so funny that he kept doing it, and we just kept laughing. I still won this battle though, Didn't I?
And finally. Does any parent look at their child and think "He's not too bad looking I guess." I like to assume they all feel the same way I do. I think my boys are so incredibly adorable. Not just a mothers adorable, but a EVERYONE must feel my kids are so cute adorable. Not sure if that made sense, but I think you get the point.
ADORABLE!!!

LUNCH TIME!!!

Hayden has been eating cereal since he was 4 months old. He loves it. For the past couple weeks we have been introducing vegetables. The way we do it is to spend a full week introducing only 1 new veggie. The first week was green beans. He absolutely hated them. The second week was squash. Didn't like that at first, but toward the end he was tolerating them. I also continued to try green beans in the evening, still not liking them. Yesterday we started peas. Doesn't like them either, at least yet. At this rate I don't know what this kid will eat. Is he destined to have a sweet tooth? I think maybe. Of course I will take the blame for it since I am the one who mixes his cereal with apple juice. Or I can blame genetics and say he gets it from his daddy.

The one thing Hayden loves about eating veggies, is to blow raspberries as soon as you put the food in. By the end of each meal he and the whole highchair are covered with little droplets of baby food. He thinks it is hysterical.

I will add that I know he is wearing a birthday bib, and no it is not his birthday. What can I say, time to do laundry.

Like Daddy 2

As a tribute to Clint on Father's Day I thought I would talk about how much Jace idolizes him again. Last night at dinner I mentioned Clint being on call next weekend. Jace then goes into his role play of daddy. He said he was on call and he was a doctor at the hospital. He pretended to be returning a page on his pretend phone. It was so cute and so surprising. You never realize how much children absorb into their little minds, and then they start mimicking you. It can be a real eye opener to your behavior if you don't watch out.

I couldn't have asked for a better husband and father to my children than Clint. All you have to do is watch him interact with Jace and Hayden, and you will know. I hope that one day Hayden feels the same way about his daddy as Jace does. Daddy can fix anything, daddy can always make me feel better, daddy is so fun to play with, daddy hung the moon.
