Miscellaneous Adventures...from Clint

Hello all. Clint here. I got the directive from Kristin that I needed to learn how to do this blog thing, especially since I always tell her it needs to be updated. So...without further ado, here is my first shot at this thing.

The last week or so has been very adventuresome for Lasiter gang. We had the good fortune of having my best friend, Chris Kneip, come up to visit us from Jackson, Mississippi. He is an orthopedic surgery resident in Jackson. We hadn't seen each other in over two years since we graduated from medical school. The last time Jace saw him he was only 11 months old, now he is 3. That didn't matter though because Jace took to him like he had known him the whole time. Of course he did call him "Curse" or "Cursey" the whole time, but they had fun together nonetheless. Kristin and I also enjoyed getting to spend some time with him again catching up on old times and playing some golf. Thanks for coming Chris!!

Here is Chris with the boys.

This weekend was also very fun for us. On Friday night the Tidmores kept Jace and Hayden for us so that Kristin and I could go to dinner and a movie. We had a great time and really enjoyed seeing "The Bourne Ultimatum." I highly recommend this movie to anyone who has not seen it, especially if you liked the first two "Bourne" movies. On Saturday we reciprocated the favor by keeping the Tidmore kids, Anna and Mason, so that they could have a nice dinner and a movie. Kristin and I decided to be brave and get out of the house even though we had four kids. The first annual Columbia Balloon Festival was taking place Saturday night and we knew the kids would enjoy it, so we went. You should have seen the looks on people's faces when they saw Kristin and I with two double strollers and four kids all 3 and under! Luckily the kids were great and the balloons were awesome. Jace and Anna really liked seeing all of the balloons right there in front of them as they filled up and took off. Unfortunately the wind started blowing toward the end of the night and they had to cut the "illumination" portion short, but it was still tons of fun. Here are some pics.

Jace, Anna, Mason, and Hayden

Balloons, balloons everywhere!

Aren't we just a good looking family!!

Lastly, but not leastly (does that really make sense?), the gang had one last adventure before the weekend was over. To the batting cages and driving range. Kristin and I got some cuts in so that we can rule our co-ed church softball league and then we hit some golf balls. As you can see below, we have the next great golfer in our midst. Jace had a blast swinging at the golf balls, and he even hit a few too!

Look at the setup. This one went at least 5 yards!

Like father, like son!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my first post. Hopefully there will be more in the future, but I will have to see what kind of reaction I get from this one and also see if Kristin lets me do it again! Thanks for reading.

Future Wildcats

Paying those big bucks to Abilene Christian University is paying off big. Not only did we receive a great education, we found each other. One other big perk is the free t-shirt you receive after you have a child! Seriously, so worth the thousands upon thousands spent. Thanks mom and dad! All jokes aside, we do love ACU and really hope our children decide to go there too. Maybe they really are born to be a wildcat like the shirt says.
ACU has a magazine called the ACU Today that they send out to Alumni and people who donate money the ACU. Each issue they have a page or two of peoples children in there free t-shirts. We never took a picture to submit off Jace so we took one of the two of them and will see if they make it into the magazine. Here is the best shot we got.

Is it a bad thing that Jace, being 3 years old now, and Hayden, almost 7 months, can both fit into the same size shirt? They are both wearing a size 12 month onesie!
