San Antonio

This past week we went to visit my parents in San Antonio. We had lots of fun and got to visit a few places we had not been. Our first stop was the San Antonio Children's Museum. Jace's favorite parts were the trolley and the airplane that he could drive. Hayden enjoyed the mirrors and throwing the balls around.

We also enjoyed the warm weather and visited the park a few times.
Our final excursion of the trip was to play putt-putt. It was Jace's first time to play. He had a great time. If only he was great at taking turns and not getting in the way while others are putting! I am sure he will get the hang of it. My dad and I even got a hole in one! You might notice the pink ball Jace is using. Still his favorite color, although now he adds an after thought that he likes all the colors too.

Some of my favorite parts of the trip were shopping at the outlet malls and eating some goodMexican food. Unfortunately the best we have up in Missouri for Mexican food is Bueno!
Thanks Nana and Pops for a great time.

Easter

We had a great, but cold, Easter at the Lasiter household. We started the morning off with searching the Easter baskets. Hayden received a little candy and a bike helmet. Jace got a load of candy and a Mickey Mouse beach towel.
After that we got ready for church. Don't they look sweet in their matching outfits!
Of course Clint and I had to fit in with matching outfits too. It may be kinda corny but I am going to take full advantage of it while I can. It won't be too long until the boys are old enough to refuse to match their mommy. After church we had about 20 people over to our house for lunch and an egg hunt. It had kinda snowed while we were at church, but stopped and the sun had come out. When the boys went out to hide the eggs, it started snowing again. It looked like a blizzard coming down for a few minutes. Not much stuck and it ended quickly. We bundled up all the kids and headed out. Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures of the kids hunting eggs, but here is a picture of the egg in what little snow that stuck.

painting eggs

Last night we painted our Easter Eggs. This was Jace's first attempt. Of course we let Hayden in on the action too. However, his egg ended up with lots of cracks in it! I was a little disappointed in the colors they turned out. Most of the colors wouldn't get very dark. I'll make sure and pick a different kind next year. But the most important part was that Jace had fun and was proud of the final results.

Now I will just post a few pictures of the last few weeks. We have been lucky to have a nice day or two every month this winter. This is last month when we took advantage of the weather and went to the park. Here is Jace and his friend Anna.

By summer Hayden will hopefully be walking and will enjoy the park more, but he still had fun.It is much more fun to drink from a cup that is about as big as you. He figured out how the straw worked pretty quickly, and acted shocked every time he got something out of it.
Jace has enjoyed the rain we have been getting. Thanks Cousin Riley for the coat and boots.Hayden was ready for his close up. He wants to get a hold of the camera so badly.

Bear Hunt

So what do you do when you are stuck in the house all day with two young kids. This doesn't happen too often to me. I always find a reason for us to go somewhere. However, this morning I had no choice but to stay in. There was freezing rain coming down all morning long. So we had to entertain ourselves. One way we did this was by going on a bear hunt. Care Bear to be exact. Jace was dressed in camo with his gun in hand. He loved searching for the bear, but he wouldn't ever shoot him!
Ready for the hunt

What a trophy

Hayden followed Jace around most the time. He always wants to be in the middle of whatever we are doing.

Whatcha doing Mom?

Our little one

is now One! I can't believe it. How the year has flown by. Just one year ago he looked like this.
Now he is such a big boy. We had his birthday party the other day. He didn't really get into the presents, but oh how he loved his cake! Clint's parents were there and we invited a few families over to celebrate with us. It was a fun time.

Let me see what this tastes like!

Mmmm! I think I like this!

I think all that suger has kicked in!

Christmas

Well Christmas time came and went so fast for us. I am sure it did for many of you too. We spent the holiday in Texas. Our first stop was Odessa. I had the pleasure (or pain) of driving the 15 hour drive by myself with the 2 boys and our dog. I drove to Dallas the first night and stayed with my sister there. Along the way I hit Oklahoma City at rush hour and had Jace throw up in the car 5 miles from my sisters. The 10 hour trip took us 13 1/2 hours. The next day went much better. It was only a 5 hour drive. Once in Odessa we had a great time. Jace and Hayden got to play with their cousins and be spoiled by family. We saw some of Clint's family that we don't get to see very often. The following picture is all of Clint's Mema's great grandkids. (our kids are the boys, Clint's sister's kids are the 2 older girls, and Clint's cousin's kids are the 2 younger girls)
From Odessa we headed to San Antonio to spend Christmas day and the rest of the week with my family. We have a Christmas tradition of everyone wearing coordinating PJs. The following picture is of our kids and my sister's 2 children.
My family in our Christmas PJs. You may also notice our great stockings in the back. My brother in law made them for us.
Hayden enjoying his first Christmas. Opening his stocking to see what he got! I wasn't sure what to expect with him. I thought he might enjoy the paper at least, but he was kinda blah about the whole thing. He would play with a new toy for a few minutes but he mostly just wanted me to hold him.
Jace received a Bob the builder (by request) and a race track from Santa. He was very excited.
I will finish with Jace's letter to Santa this year. Happy New Year to all!

Dear Santa:
I would like a Bob the Builder please. I would also like a pink present. I have tried to be a very good boy and obey my parents and be nice to my brother and my dog. Could you bring Hayden a Bob the builder too, and bring Maverick a puppy Bob the Builder. Thank You. Jace
