a couple things

I just wanted to share with everyone that Hayden is beginning to sit up. It is so exciting. This is the one thing I have been waiting for him to do. I can't just leave him yet, he still likes to try and nose dive. It is so nice that he can sit there and play though. It looks like Jace is trying to hold Hayden up by his head, he was just patting it though.

Now for something totally different. Have you ever been trying to discipline your child, and they make you laugh. It totally negates what you are trying to do. Tonight at dinner we just couldn't help ourselves. Jace was trying to lay on his belly on the table during dinner. I was getting on to him and telling him how we need to remain on our bottom while we eat. Well he gives me this little smile while I am trying to talk to him. It is his "Aren't I too cute to get in trouble" smile. I told him this was not funny. Then he decides to crack this huge fake smile. Clint and I both started laughing. Of course Jace thought he was so funny that he kept doing it, and we just kept laughing. I still won this battle though, Didn't I?
And finally. Does any parent look at their child and think "He's not too bad looking I guess." I like to assume they all feel the same way I do. I think my boys are so incredibly adorable. Not just a mothers adorable, but a EVERYONE must feel my kids are so cute adorable. Not sure if that made sense, but I think you get the point.
ADORABLE!!!

LUNCH TIME!!!

Hayden has been eating cereal since he was 4 months old. He loves it. For the past couple weeks we have been introducing vegetables. The way we do it is to spend a full week introducing only 1 new veggie. The first week was green beans. He absolutely hated them. The second week was squash. Didn't like that at first, but toward the end he was tolerating them. I also continued to try green beans in the evening, still not liking them. Yesterday we started peas. Doesn't like them either, at least yet. At this rate I don't know what this kid will eat. Is he destined to have a sweet tooth? I think maybe. Of course I will take the blame for it since I am the one who mixes his cereal with apple juice. Or I can blame genetics and say he gets it from his daddy.

The one thing Hayden loves about eating veggies, is to blow raspberries as soon as you put the food in. By the end of each meal he and the whole highchair are covered with little droplets of baby food. He thinks it is hysterical.

I will add that I know he is wearing a birthday bib, and no it is not his birthday. What can I say, time to do laundry.

Like Daddy 2

As a tribute to Clint on Father's Day I thought I would talk about how much Jace idolizes him again. Last night at dinner I mentioned Clint being on call next weekend. Jace then goes into his role play of daddy. He said he was on call and he was a doctor at the hospital. He pretended to be returning a page on his pretend phone. It was so cute and so surprising. You never realize how much children absorb into their little minds, and then they start mimicking you. It can be a real eye opener to your behavior if you don't watch out.

I couldn't have asked for a better husband and father to my children than Clint. All you have to do is watch him interact with Jace and Hayden, and you will know. I hope that one day Hayden feels the same way about his daddy as Jace does. Daddy can fix anything, daddy can always make me feel better, daddy is so fun to play with, daddy hung the moon.

Like Daddy

Ever had a time when you realize your little boy is not so little. I have been having many of those lately. Time 1: Jace is well on his way to being potty trained. We started last Monday. Besides 2 not so great days, he has been so easy. Time 2: If you don't already know, Jace is such a Daddy's boy. The moment Clint gets home, I might as well not be there. I don't mind though, it is so fun to watch them together. Jace wants to be like his daddy so much, he tries to copy him. Clint likes to sing. ALOT. He walks around the house singing all the time. Jace has started doing this. Most of the time Jace is singing either twinkle, twinkle little star or his ABC's. Most of the time he makes up his own tune to words or just adds his own twist two it. It is a site to see. Time 3: His is thinking of his future already. Yesterday we were leaving to go to walmart and Jace was talking about how he wanted to be a basketball man and a baseball man (player). While driving we saw a garbage truck and he started to talk about how he wanted to be a garbage man. Now these are his typical things he talks about being. A minute later I said "Jace, What do you want to be when you get big?" I was curious to see which one he said. To my surprise he answered "Like Daddy." This was one of those heart melting moments for me.

my munchkin

Well Hayden is officially 4 months old. We took him to the doctor on Monday and he is doing great. He weighs 14lbs 1 oz and is 24 1/2in long. I call him my munchkin because he is alot smaller than Jace was. Jace weighed 15lbs 6 oz and was 26 in long. Hayden also likes to be dramatic with the shots. I know they hurt, and I don't like them either. He is in a bad mood for like 24 hours after his shots.

Jace really likes his little brother. So much so he is all over Hayden all the time. He also likes to take Hayden's toys to show him how to really play with them. Hayden is learning how to stick up for himself already!

We just brought down the exersaucer from the attic. Hayden seems to like it for short periods. Here is a pic of Jace on the left and Hayden below so you can compare if they look alike or not. I have had many people say they think that they do. I see it some, but not much.

We also have this cool seat called a Bumbo. New thing since Jace was born. It is made so that little babies can sit up in it without falling over. He likes it if you can't tell. It is amazing that even with all these inventions, toys that we have that a baby's favorite entertainment is people. Hayden would much rather be sitting in my lap with me talking to him than in either of these. Thing is, I like it. I would much rather sit with him in my lap smiling at me, than doing anything else. These baby days go by so fast. Hayden will be 4 months old in a week. How time flies.

ST. Louis Trip

Well this past weekend we went to St. Louis to spend a day of fun with the the kids. We went with our friends the Tidmore's. Our first stop was the Magic House. It is a great children's museum. They had a lot of fun activities for the kids. One of Jace's favorites was the fishing pond. The pole had a magnet on the end to catch a fish. I think he would have stayed there the whole time if he could have. I have also included a picture of Anna and her mom Heather. They had a ball you could touch that put out static electricity. Anna loved it so much she talked about her hair standing up the rest of the day. Jace was too scared to do it. There was also a 3
story slide that would have been so fun. However, adults were not allowed on it and both of the kids were too scared for it. I don't blame them for that one.
After we ate lunch we went to the St. Louis Zoo. We had fun but were exhausted by the end. The traffic was so bad getting in and out of the Zoo that Clint said he would never go back. We will see about that. After a great dinner at Fuddruckers we headed on home.
